Jan 2025 Content Update

Hello my friends.

Happy New Year and welcome to my first blog of the year!

This will be my first content update of the year, covering the things I expect to be releasing in the first month to six weeks of 2025. Just as before I'm going to be discussing every content stream I have, what I'm currently working on, and when I expect it to release. I'm doing this for a few reasons,  not least of all is to keep me focused, while also providing some accountability for all of you out there, my loyal fans. Although as I have said before I don't want to damage the potential of my work by rushing it, and would like it all to release when it is ready, and not before.

So let's take a closer look at what you can expect.


The Blog

So now that the multi-part Power Rangers Watch Order is complete, as well as the ArrowVerse one, then the final Watch Order I'm currently working on is for the 23rd Century of Star Trek, which is an area where I think that release order is not the best way to watch it at all, and some episodes can definitely be avoided. Beyond that I have an idea for the next Watch Order I may cover, which will be for the Aliens and Predator shared universe, both of which are getting new entries next year, and I may do one for the Jurassic World franchise now that it has expanded to a second animated series. 

Beyond the Watch Orders the other major blog I'm working on is a discussion of why executive shouldn't court toxic fandom, based on a news story Variety released a few months ago, and bringing together a lot of thoughts I've had on the topic for some time now, especially as toxic fandom culture seems to be this ever-present thing right now. Beyond that I have a Thought Experiment looking at what a Marvel Cinematic Universe in a world where Marvel didn't sell the rights to all of their most popular characters could look like, although that is in very early stages. And my final idea for a future blog, but one that is a long way off as it will require a lot of work, is returning to the world of Warhammer 40,000 to map out its advancing timeline across novels, gamebooks and video games to work out when everything takes place, and hopefully provide some entry points for people looking to jump in, although don't expect that one for a long while yet.


The Podcast

So while I have not released any recent episodes I have been hard at work on advancing my WIP podcast content, as well as updating every episode on both YouTube and Audio platforms with new artwork and details, including a chapter guide on every episode. I have also been regularly sharing a daily featured episode on social media, which is helping me to increase my subscriber base and bringing new attention to older episodes I'm quite proud of. In fact I'm nearly at 50 subscribers, which is a great milestone that I am looking forward to. 

So what is releasing and when?

Firstly my episode looking at the Jurassic Park/World franchise. This episode is fully recorded, and I have all the images I need to create the frames for the video version. My focus when I can in this coming week will be to complete and render this episode, so that it can launch this weekend. 

Secondly is my commissioned episode for the Skibidi Toilet series. The script for this is nearly complete, and some parts are already recorded, and so I should have this finished by the second full week of January, depending on how long it takes to get the images I need.

Thirdly is part 2 of my X-Men Retrospective, which the more I work on it seems like it may end up being a far bigger project than I originally envisioned. So part 2 I hope to have by the end of the month, but I do not expect that to be the end of it like I originally planned, so expect a part 3 and possibly a part 4 in the future.

I am also currently scripting episodes on Star Trek: Picard and Chris Chibnall's Thirteenth Doctor, which means rewatching those series and making notes. Expect more details on these in February however.

I'm aiming to have the episode I'm working on with Zulu on Buffy the Vampire Slayer out this month if I can. All going well we should be able to record that this coming week. 

So if all goes as planned that's 4 episodes to enjoy this month.


The Gaming

I'm planning on amending my Twitch schedule in the new year, and hoping to set it up so that I can directly upload the streams to the new YouTube Channel, which is all set up and ready to go. However before we get to that stage I have several videos that need to be processed and uploaded for both Half-Life 2 and Knights of the Old Republic. So until I catch up the streaming is currently paused. 

Beyond that I am also looking at streaming via my PC rather than directly from the Xbox, which will allow me to stream a wider range of games, including emulated titles, and will also allow me to include my camera view. I am however a novice at this and so I am learning as I go. 

As previously stated once Half-Life 2 and KOTOR are complete they will be succeeded by Control and Fallout: New Vegas respectively, and those will in turn be followed by Wolfenstein: The New Order and Dragon Age: Origins. 

The Painting

So my painting completely fell by the wayside in the push to do other things for the podcast and blog, as well as everything for the holidays. 

However it is something I want to keep focused on for the new year, with a goal of painting at least one unit a week, something which I do think is perfectly achievable. In fact I may even enter the Armies on Parade competition at the end of the year. 

Either way there will be more content for this, most probably on my Instagram, while the full guide to the lore of my army will be in a future blog.

The Comics

So as I said previously I have started a full read of Marvel Comics in order to chronicle the history of the universe, as much for myself as anything else, but I've found I have a lot to say about those early Silver Age comics. However I have paused this project temporarily while I catch up on some other pieces of work, including finishing the Krakoan-era X-Men run. 

However I am planning on getting back to this soon, although I am still unclear where or how I might share this as yet. I suppose it all depends on how much I find I have to say.



And there's another update complete. 

Honestly after how 2023 and 2024 have been I'm very much looking forward to continuing to grow and being incredible content to all of you throughout 2025, which will also be the fifth year of my podcast, which is mind-boggling in so many ways as I just feel like I'm beginning to find my groove.

The next update should be up in early February with all the details on what will be following the items listed above, as well as hopefully some teasers on other future content.

Warhammer - A Love/Hate Relationship

Hello my friends. Welcome back to my blog. Today I wanted to talk a bit about one of my favourite fandoms, and also one of my biggest annoyances, which is Warhammer and its fandom. For those who aren't aware, Warhammer is the name of a series of settings used for games created and published by Games Workshop, a British model-making company based in Nottingham. Warhammer Fantasy Battle was the first game, published in 1983. Marvel Cinematic Universe Watch Order

Hello my friends. Welcome back! So after posting my last Watch Order for Star Trek I was debating what I could follow it up with. There were obviously a few options that I had in various stages, and several that I can use to link to episodes of my podcast, however the one that jumped out at me the most was the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU is something that people, including myself, have been debating the timeline of for a very long time. There have also been multiple debates about canonicity, especially of the tie-in media like television shows not produced by Marvel Studios. A lot of these discussions have been in many ways hindered by official licensed material by Marvel themselves, or comments made by filmmakers, which has only thrown more fuel on the already fiery debate.
