2024 Content Update

Image
Hello my friends, and welcome back to my blog.  One of the reasons I initially set this blog up, besides sharing things that maybe wouldn't work as podcast episodes, was to place updates for my content in a central place. As we are fast approaching the end of 2024, and I am becoming much more productive recently, I wanted to share a bit more about everything I'm working on here at Garhdo Towers, which could help give you an idea of when things might make their way to you, my lovely audience. I'm taking the view that there are six weeks left before we hit Christmas and New Year, and with a lot of current events being the way they are I want to focus on my work for the benefit of my own mental health. The bonus of that is it means I can work on a lot more content! However that said I don't want to promise when these new releases will be in those six weeks, simply because this has been a bit of an issue for me in the past, and rushing to make or missing deadlines just lead...

Power Rangers All-Killer, No-Filler Watch Order Part 1 - The Zordon Era

Hello my friends, and welcome back to my blog. So I wanted to talk about Power Rangers today, which is one of my favourite franchises despite its ridiculous, over-the-top and incredibly cheesy nature. I devoted my 75th episode of my podcast to it and discussed how much I love it, especially how it has an interconnected nature that builds a mythology across thirty years of a franchise history. Power Rangers is a children's television franchise, but more than that it is a Western-made adaptation of a long-running Japanese superhero franchise called Super Sentai. Super Sentai is part of a genre of shows known as "henshin" (transforming) heroes, and is part of a filmmaking style that is quite common in Japan known as tokusatsu, a term which literally translate...

Hello my friends. Welcome back to my blog. Today I wanted to talk a bit about one of my favourite fandoms, and also one of my biggest annoyances, which is Warhammer and its fandom. For those who aren't aware, Warhammer is the name of a series of settings used for games created and published by Games Workshop, a British model-making company based in Nottingham. Warhammer Fantasy Battle was the first game, published in 1983. Inspired by their previous work with Dungeons & Dragons, which Games Workshop got started by publishing content for (including creating the Githyanki, who recently appeared in Baldur's Gate 3 ), but an evolution, designed to use the miniatures Games Workshop had been making in combination with more traditional tabletop RPG mechanics to create a tabletop battle game.  The Warhammer World, as the setting became known, was a fantasy world of heroes and magic, featuring wizards, knights, elves, dwarves, dragons, undead, and orcs in a world full of all the usu...
